Checking financial modelling is done right...

As George Box once said "All models are wrong, some are useful". Our financial model auditing combines a robust methodology with deep industry experience to ensure that your models are indeed useful and fit for purpose. To do so, we complete a thorough examination and evaluation of your financial or analytical models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness.
Some of the key components within our model review service include:

  • Documentation Review: Examining the documentation associated with the model, including methodology, procedures, and user guides.
  • Assumption Validation: Reviewing and validating the assumptions made in the model to ensure they reflect the current business environment.
  • Identification: Detecting and correcting errors or inconsistencies in the model's calculations or logic.
  • Data Quality Assessment: Evaluating the quality and relevance of the data used in the model to support accurate analysis.
  • Sensitivity Analysis: Assessing the model's sensitivity to changes in input parameters to understand its robustness.
  • Compliance Check: Ensuring that the model complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies.

Financial Modelling done right...

Strategy ultimately drives the operational aspects to create value in an organization. Value is defined as financial value, social and other non-financial aspects. The execution and operationalization of the business strategy is critical to the success of the initiative/business. Aspects of strategy, logistics, human capital, processes, technology and performance management play critical roles to the success and sustainability of the venture / project and ultimately to the return on investment and shareholder / stakeholder value. Our methodology is centered on building detailed Strategic & Operational Financial Models that simulate the business, through extensive consultation with the client and our experience, to identify key drivers of value to assist executives and senior management to make strategic and operational decisions.

Helping you make sense of your data...

Aevo's Data Analytics and Visualization (DAV) practice is a multi-faceted offering. Much of our work is as a value-add to our consulting projects.
The DAV practice was born out of our strategy and modeling business; to offer clients cutting-edge analysis in the most advanced formats using the best technologies available. Data Analytics is the process of finding underlying patterns in data; to make meaningful decisions in organisations. Data Visualization goes further to help display the information in simple user-friendly dashboards. The dashboards can be Static, Interactive or Animated. The visualizations have been created for different media formats including tablets and smartphones.

Process

Ensuring continous improvement towards operational excellence...

An organisation's Business Processes provide a framework and flow of how it functions and executes on its deliverables, these are the activities involved in defining what a business entity does, responsibilities, standards, and how the success of a business process can be determined. ISO 9001 requires a business entity to follow a process approach when managing its business. One of the key reasons for processes to be in place is to enable the organization to be efficient in the delivery of its objectives.
In creating and developing processes, it is important for the organization to consider the level of cost / benefit in adopting processes. Too many steps and processes may be counter-productive to the organization, however too few may increase levels of financial and other risk of financial and inefficiencies.
Our Business Process Mapping Team members have the capability to identify and interrogate processes, map these and advise on these to achieve a balance of risk and efficiency in organizations.
Our methodology is centered around understanding the organisation and the organisation’s environment, developing multi-dimensional process mapping with interdependencies to support important goals such as:-

  • Business process re-engineering
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Activity Analysis
  • Service Level Agreements
  • Simulation
  • Internal Audit

Benefiting from the best of both worlds

Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) represent a collaborative model where public and private sectors join forces to design, finance, implement, and operate projects for the benefit of society. In the realm of infrastructure and service delivery, PPPs offer a dynamic approach to leveraging the strengths of both sectors. These partnerships aim to optimize efficiency, innovation, and risk-sharing, making them a strategic solution for funding and managing public projects. Aevo specialises in navigating the intricacies of PPPs, recognising their significance in sectors such as transportation, buildings, services and utilities.

With a proven track record in structuring successful collaborations between public entities and private enterprises, we understand the unique challenges and opportunities that PPP projects present. LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

At Aevo Consulting Group we are constantly looking for ways to add value to our clients

Increasingly, we see that companies are struggling with limited skills and understanding of financial management terminology and practices. Our Financial Management Courses

This two day workshop comprises of three modules, two elective and one core, with the selection based on the needs of the audience.

The NGO sector generally relies on strict cost control and managing budgets in line with donor requirements and reporting. Our experience suggests that many managers don’t have the time to manage these requirements effectively or haven’t been given knowledge and systems that ensure they understand how to. In our consulting work, we simplify the process and provide easily digestible dashboards and the requisite process and policy support to show what’s happening with the money being spent. To support that work, we have developed a financial training package for not-for-profit organisations. The importance here is managing resources effectively in line with the purpose of the organisation and its strategic objectives.

This programme aims to assist non-finance people within the organisation to understand the basics of corporate finance, reading and understanding financial statements, capital budgeting and the importance of cash flow. It will provide a more structured approach to sales and product forecasting, budgeting and measurement of performance against budgets. By demystifying financial management tools such as budgets, cash-flow, equity, debt, financial performance such as ROI, ROE and EVA and other profitability concepts the course will empower non-finance people by giving them confidence when communicating with accounting and finance professionals in the organisation. The course will be compiled from the following:

This course will help you improve your understanding of the financial ramifications of business decisions – and how these relate to an impact on the income statement, balance sheet or cash flow statement. You will gain insights into planning effectively, identify what drives costs, growth, cash-flow, profitability, and working capital management.

Our Microsoft Excel Based Courses

This course is intended to give users that are new to Excel an introduction to using Excel in the business environment in any industry. The course is suitable for complete beginners to Excel and can be customized as per audience requirement (minimum participant numbers may apply).

Microsoft Excel has become a staple software within the modern business environment but one that is not often used to its full potential or with the desired efficiency. Our Excel for Business training programme is designed for more advanced users of Excel wanting to gain added insight into how to make Excel work better for them and their organisations. Only basic knowledge is required for the course.

The course is designed to enable the candidate to build meaningful, user-friendly models. Learn how to model business drivers that will impact business/project performance. With specific emphasis on model design and functionality, the candidate will be equipped with the necessary tools to build models for decision making and scenario planning.

These short courses are designed to up-skill existing users of Excel in key business or analytic areas. Introduction to VBA Macros in Excel (1 day)
Learn how to record and manipulate macros in Excel. Learn the basics of writing and programming your own macros, creating forms and custom controls with VBA. Graphing in Excel (Half day)
Learn how to create graphs/ charts in Excel. Understand how they work, which chart to use, formatting graphs, graphing multiple data items and how to combine them for the best effect. Pivot Tables (Half day)
Learn how to get the best results using Pivot tables, including pivot charts and using the GETPIVOTDATA command.

OUR HISTORY

In 2004, Dharmendra Luksmidas, founding member of CorpActive, sought to build a niche consulting firm focused on modelling and analytics to deliver decision support solutions to senior executives. The business had over the years grown in a number of different areas, offering a broad range of services.

In 2018 Aevo Consulting Group was created with analytics and financial modelling as its core focus, still maintaining close ties with it’s predecessor.

Aevo Consulting Group is a business founded on a sense of purpose, and our unique culture still shapes the way we do business today.
